Travel by Map: San Francisco to London

Tomorrow Louie & I embark on a 2-week trip to England for our friends’ wedding. It’s my second time to England (I went when I was 17) but Louie’s first time abroad at all. He’s never flown over water or for more than 6 hours! So that’ll be fun… ish.

Our flight leaves at 4:30 pm PST and arrives in London at 8:40 am on Sunday. We’re looking at a whomping 8 hour time difference, and I’m hoping the jetlag isn’t super derailing. If I remember correctly, the secret to jetlag is just powering through it. (Which, I’m sure, is a lot easier to do when you’re still in high school.) I also hope we can sleep okay on the plane.

We’re flying Virgin Atlantic and it’s a direct flight straight to Heathrow, so I’m glad we don’t have to worry about transfers. After two nights in London we’ll be taking a train up to Manchester for the wedding shenanigans. Can’t wait! This is my third time being a bridesmaid, too. Kinda crazy!

I have this goal to write a blog post every day for the duration of the trip about what we’ve experienced, though I’m notorious for being lazy when it comes to this sort of thing. Let’s see how well I can discipline myself and keep a decent travel journal!

If you’ve been to London or live around, feel free to give us recommendations! I’ve got a Google map pinned with a myriad of things to do, so we’ll definitely be keeping busy and traversing all over the place, but a few more options won’t hurt. 😉

Wow! Have a fantastic trip. I am just like Louie and never flown for more than 6 hours. I hope you two have a blast. Take lots of pictures with your new camera and don’t forget to recount everything 😀
