Over the weekend I went shoe shopping with Jess in Union Square (still feels weird saying that and not meaning the one in NY!) because I needed new black flats. My old pair was really dirty, water-damaged (damn suede), and the sole was so worn down that you could see inside it. So, obviously, I was in dire need. 😛
After adventuring around both DSW and Aldo, I came home with not one, but two pairs of black flats—a fact which Louie wasn’t very happy with me about. 🙁
In any case, I started wearing them to break them in a bit. The first pair, ironically by Dr, Scholls, squashed my pinky toe and cut into the back of my heel on my left foot but felt fine on the right. After wearing them for an extended period of time I decided I should probably bring them back to DSW and see if they have another pair in my size and see if it’s just a defect in the pair I bought. If not, I’ll just return them outright. I wasn’t supposed to buy two, anyway.
The second pair is from Aldo and they’re really cute, I’m wearing them today to break them in. The back of the shoes rub into my heel a little bit but not as much as the other pair did. I’m hoping that since these are leather they’ll stretch nicely. If not, I can get heel pads for them that should push my foot far enough forward to prevent the rubbing. Either way, I’m keeping them.
